cinevegas 2009...

...has come and gone. can you believe it? i cant. i mean, my whole internship seemed long, but also went by really fast. I had so much fun and learned a lot. I'm glad I had the chance to be part of such a great event. I worked with some really fun people, and our events were top notch.

-The press team (me, vanessa, tiffany, jenn, and kelly) worked in CVHQ (cinevegas headquarters) for most of the week. sounds boring, but it was really busy, and cinevegas headquaters was AMAZING.



-we spent most of our time with credentialing/ticketing the press. interesting, i must say.

-sponsors=best thing ever. some of our sponsors included...whole foods, jasons deli, cirque du soleil, the palms, brenden theatres, vegas.com, and of course the alcohol, stella artois and grey goose vodka (not that that benefited me at all...)

-i got to stay at planet hollywood with vanessa (courtesy of cinevegas), meaning i got to swim at the pool on my off time. i love the pool!!!

-i went to some of the official cv parties... lavo (thursday night) palms pool and rain with dj am (friday night) playboy moon and cvhq (sunday night)


-i saw the BEST MOVIE EVER.... it's called (500) Days of Summer. go see it on JULY 17th. (or sign up to see it with me on july 15 on the website) i love zooey deschanel and joseph gordon-levitt was at the screening and did a q&a after the screening. it was amazing. i love him too. (plus i loved him in angels in the outfield and 10 things...) anyways go see it.
-on sunday i was "kidnapped" accidentally by the "getty images crew." i didnt mind because i was the 'stand-in girl' to help prepare for JON VOIGHT, WILLEM DAFOE, MARIA MENOUNOS, BOBCAT GOLDTHWAIT, and SHOSHANA BEAN's photoshoots. ya..i felt beautiful. haha. but i really got to stay and meet everyone. i even rode up in the elevator with dafoe. and voight watched the last couple minutes of the LA game with us. (i like him becasue he was in my favorite show 24 this past season). anyways..did i forget to mention that this all took place in the $25,000 a night SKYVILLA SUITE at the palms. oh yeah..

-monday we had to help work the red carpets for the UNLV and CSN student films. George Maloof and Bobby Brenden awarded Robin Leach a celebrity star at the Brenden Theatres that night, so we went to that. It was kind of fun becasue they made it such a big deal. and HOLLY MADISON was there...kinda fun to see her, plus jon thinks she's a hottie. i personally like kendra! :)

-overall i had a blast. the only thing i would have changed, was realizing we got free popcorn and drinks the whole week...and i forgot til the last day. DANGIT.

now all i have left is my presentation in August to get school credit. eek.
but im one step closer to graduation!!

internship

i am now officially divulged in my position as the pressintern for cinevegas 2009. Until school got out, I was only working on Fridays, but now that school is out, I am working 3 days a week. (and 2 at my dads office) busy busy. So far things have gone good. a lot of work with clippings and credentials, but now that the festival is only a month away, things should start to busy up and get fun! im excited. For instance yesterday, we headed down to Ditch Fridays at the Palms Pool to hand out beach balls and spread the word about the festival. Sure beats sitting in the office right?? (too bad i dont drink, because we definitely got vip passes with free drinks that my co-workers appreciated. haha)

For those of you who don't know anything about cinevegas, its a film festival at the palms from june 10-15. this year we are premiering a new robin williams movie call "World's Greatest Dad," and supposedly he is supposed to come. should be fun!

car a day in may

that's right me, matix, and my dad went down to the hyundai dealership last night for their raffle because my mom made us. she knows someone who actually won the other night. unfortunately we didnt win. but maybe i will have more luck next time! haha. that would be sweet to win a car just like that. or even to just take the $500 they offer if you don't want the car.

it made my day.

to celebrate mothers day my dad decided to have a progressive dinner, 

stopping at each of my sister's houses.

we started at theresa's for appetizers.

then to steph's for salad.

then to our house for the main dish and dessert.

(julie's house was cancelled due to peyton's recent arrival)

it was a cute idea. but i little chaotic. and naptime was ruined.  :)

i mostly think that my dad did it to get out of doing all the work.

today she sent me a text so funny (but only to us) that made me bust up laughing while getting my oil changed. the lady next to me says "boy, you're having fun with your phone." i almost died.  

i love how we have a wacky relationship that no one could ever understand. and how we can be so immature, yet it's so normal. 

i love layne

today she ate with me. and then napped with me. and it felt like 3 years ago when it was our daily routine. even though now we're both married with children. (okay almost, in her case)

and it seriously made me teary eyed.

jon went to san antonio, texas for the summer to sell alarms. He's been gone now for a week and a half, and me and matix miss him a lot. it's going to be a lonely summer without him :(
