my big boy...

sleeps in his crib all night every night now! yay. i know its bad but he's been sleeping in my bed with me since day 1. so i figured its about time to graduate into his own bed before i cant break his attachment to mine. and he adjusted just fine...even though i kinda hoped the transition would have been a little more rough for him, since it was for me. but oh well..it is what it is.

nat turned 26 yesterday. shes freaking old. last year she was halfway dead..this year...im planning her funeral. okay not really but i like to tease her. anyways i lover her and got to see her so much lately and i love it because she really is like my other half..in a really weird way. july is our anniversary as friends month...3 years...but we have more memories than you would believe. i think i have the most memories with her than anyone..even though i've known many people way longer. we were roomies...have gone to every show known to man...my unicorn...my mommy..matixs gma...my bandmate...my other half hence natash...and i miss her. thats all.

me and the little man were happily napping in my bed and bam phone rings. not only did he wake me up..he slams me with the news that matix is having a sleepover with his auntie angelique and nyesha and he needs to be ready to leave in 5 minutes! what!? you have got to be kidding me. there is no way you are taking my baby from me right in the middle of NAPTIME! so the more i think about it, i know it makes sense since ang is babysitting matix tomorrow while me and jon are at work...(yes the both of us) and nyesha lives in summerlin...and it would be stupid to drive over there twice...but doesn't he realize that that is just about 24 hours that i will not see my baby boy? what the heck. i know im being a little over dramatic but this is the longest i will not see him and as much as he can drive me nuts he is my little buddy and im gonna miss him. so there it is..5 minutes later...i find myself at the door waving goodbye, with tears in my eyes.

now i cant sleep. and my eyes are still watery. so what do i do?? call darci. she loves to hear about my stupid life. then i realize her life is stupider and way more horrible, since she just found out that they might take her baby away permanently!! saddest story of my life. so we cry together...me about 24 hours and her about possibly forever. she wins.

finally...

finally...jon got a new job. hopefully it all works out but we're pretty excited. now we can start planning a wedding :)

finally...i died my hair back brown. i did a hair show a little while back and i told them to try to keep the length and i didnt want to got red. so what did i end up with? short and red. go figure. but now its back to brown. a little dark but i like it.

finally...we got wic back!! i missed my appt after matix was born...so we lost our benefits. and then i lost my card..or so i thought..anyways...now we're back on track...and we went grocery shopping our wic purchase was $125. dang formula is expensive. thank goodness for wic.

finally...the baby is on a pretty regualr sleeping schedule! you have no idea how happy this makes me. im still always tired but that started even before the baby..or the pregnancy...pretty much thats just me...but im excited the being up all night phase is over...at least for the time being. :)

so last night matix slept the whole night through..for the first time! i was so excited this morning when i had to be the one to wake up the little booger at 6 am. i swear if he could talk he definitely would have said..."mom..just a little longer...i wanna sleep a little more!!" too bad suckerrrr. mommy has work and it was time to eat! he went to bed at 11..i woke him up at 6...good job baby matix! lets see how many days in a row we can do this :)

high school friends...

this weekend was full of seeing a bunch of friends from high school, not once...but twice. kadee leavitt got married and ashley hammack had her bridal shower. i wish i could keep in touch with everyone but we all know that's not really possible...so at least we can always resort back to weddings to bring us all up to date with each others lives. matix got to make his first appearance to many...and he was loved all around.

2 months later...

Our little matix is now 2 months old. i cant believe how big he is getting. Almost doubling in size since the day he was born, at a whopping 12 1/2 pounds. yesterday...on the radio a woman called in who delivered a 13 1/2 pund baby..naturally!!! now that's crazy talk! There's no way this little man could fit back inside of me. In fact..I don't think he can grow anymore or hauling around his carseat will be impossible for me. Anyways I've been meaning to create a blog since before my life got busy with a baby...and it never happened...I'm going to recap the last few months of our new life with a baby!

luckily 10 days before my due date, Dr. Paul allowed me to be induced since he was going out of town the next week. Hooray...9 months is finally over!

Darci and her wonderful family invited us to go camping on the beach in carlsbad california. i was a little nervous about bringing a one month old baby to sleep in tents on the beach for a week..but hey..its worth a try right? :) anyways we packed up all three cars and were off monday morning early.

so it turns out that one of my good friend brittany and her husband will live in camp pendleton, which is only about 7 min away from where we were camping. it was so fun to see them and finally see their little guy keegan, who we havent seen since the day he was born, in the hospital. (he is now 10 months!) jon and keegs clicked instantly.he cant wait for matix to able to do "cool" things like keegan. apparently matix's daily routine of eating, sleeping, pooping, and the occasional smiles just arent cutting it. although i have no complaints..especially after lifting keegan!! im perfectly content with him staying little forever. anyways, so it turns out that sleeping in a tent wasnt as bad as i thought, however it was nice to sleep in a bed every other night, courtesy of the cushenberrys :) and get matix out of the heat, since he started getting a little bit of a heat rash. on friday britt decided we should go to disneyland since its pretty much our favorite place ever...and since she got us free tickets..how could we resist? it was so fun and matix even got to go on quite a few rides! hes so spoiled...

july 13th

for my birthday a bunch of my friends got together and we all went to olive garden and bowling. its always fun to have an excuse to get together..since its so hard to coordinate everyone hanging out. im glad my friends were all able to come :)





i knwo youre jealous of my awesome purple shoes and ball that jons grandparents bought me. oh yes theyre all mine :)






part 2 of my birthday consisted of me and jon going out with some of my friends i haven't been able to hang out with for a long time. we went to blue martini and planet hollywood. it was fun to feel young and go out late...thanks to little cana for babysitting. ( i used to babysit her now shes babysitting for me..crazyy!!)

my cousin litany had a baby boy on the fourth of july. let me tell you i did not realize how big matix was until seeing how little jaxson was compared to him. its amazing how much they grow so quickly!!

so here we are..2 months later. a lot has happened huh? being a mom is can be rough at times but i wouldnt change him for the world. sometimes i still wonder if he's really mine...cuz he's just so dang cute!
