internship

Why do i hate unlv right now and the fact that i need an internship to graduate?

So i have been on a desperate hunt to find a summer internship, and no thanks to the current economic situation, the search continues. Apparently when times get tough the first thing to go are the internship programs.   I don't really understand why. It's not even like interns get paid anymore. Now its just free labor that we students must do to graduate!!! 

Anyways so i finally found an internship with CineVegas doing PR work. (I would have preferred an advertising internship but who can be picky) Everything seemed to be working out until i find out that she wants a full-time intern. like 5 days a week, 8+ hours a day! and the week of the festival she wants 10+ hours a day! holy hell... you're not even paying me! and my requirements for school are only 150 hours... but now you want me to quit my current job that pays... to work for free (for the next 2 1/2 months!) ?!?!?  No thank you.

what the heck am i going to do??? not graduate? 

grrrr.

frosted flakes

is my most favoritest cereal...

but lately my mother has been coming home with this crap...

seriously i don't even know why they can still call it frosted flakes, because it is gross. especially the gold kind. the reduced sugar is deal-able if you add a little sugar yourself. but still. i understand that kids need to eat healthier and they probably don't even know the difference...but i do. they need to still carry the old stuff for people like me. i do not appreciate any of this. 

bring back the good 'ole original frosted flakes please!!!!

....thats right, we got hitched.

many think it's ghetto...but today i am quite fond of this good 'ole place. 

actually i like it most days..bc its quite cheap..but today i LOVE it.

so yesterday morning i went to buy some more baby food at walmart before school. (and somehow spent freaking $50 and have no clue how. geez.)

anyways i head to school-no big deal. 

then i think about buying some dinner since i have no time to run home before my big movie date with VALERIE and megan (ehhh shopaholic is not as good as you would think. well as good as a cheesy girlie movie could possibly be, anyways...)

when i realize my handy little coach money bag (that i did not buy...h to the no...but i still like) is missing. 

OMG!

basically my whole life is in this thing. 

so i look at my bags and realize i had it at walmart and now i dont so i must have either left it in the bag, or at walmart.

of course its not in the bag...

oh no. i didnt even go to the nice one..i went to the ghetto one. eeek. 

so i call and of course they transfer me to a million departments (lube? please tell me why)only to find out of course it is not there. (she couldn't have even tried to look for it in 15 sec but whatever)

so i go about my night and use my handy discover gas card for dinner and movies as i dread the next day (today) wondering how im going to get $ from the bank for a new id with no id or how im gonna get a new id with my discover card with no id? oh goodness.

so while at work i happen to drive right by THE WALMART. ironic right? (it wasn't on purpose at all-i swear)

so something tells me to just check.

so i go into customer service feeling hopeless but praying just in case. 

the girl looks in all the lost and found baskets. then she asks me what it looks like. i tell her its a small coach handbag, and she replies with omg i saw that yesterday. 

what? no way? you happened to see it? but now its not in the baskets? what?

im so confused...maybe one of the workers stole it from lost and found! probably the lady on the phone...grrr.

so she makes a phone call and finds out that for some strange reason they put it in the safe.. 

how random. 

but anyways I GOT MY LIFE BACK!!

you have no idea how happy i am. 

even the cash was in it...which i didn't expect at all!! all $52.00!

i am so lucky i swear.

I LOVE walmart!!!!!!!!!!

at the bachelor.

i mean seriously. i cried at the cutest most awesomest ending of the season. i was so happy. i just loved melissa...only to get pissed and mad and sad and cry again on the after show. ewww. i really thought i liked jason but i think i changed my mind. i hope him and molly work out because if he is the bachelor again i will boycott the show. okay maybe not... but i would think about it. 

anyways i love melissa even more now because her comebacks were awesome and she told him. 

aghh.

 

thanks bachelor for sucking me and megan (winn...my usual date birdsall left me all alone on this crazy night) in for 3 hours and now i don't have time for my usual love affair on mondays nights...jack bauer.

so...

darcis sister brighton blogged about some random girl named kaitlin's engagement story. you wont think that is weird after you read what happens. or maybe you will just see it on the today show. who knows...

the things that keep us busy

two weekends ago we went up to the draper temple open house. it was a lot of driving with a 9 month old baby let me tell you. ahh he did great for being buckled up basically the whole weekend. poor litttle guy.

we had a lot of fun. we hardly ever get to go up to the salt lake area, i just wish we got to see more friends and family up there.
the temple however was beautiful and i basically want one of the houses across the street from it that are all being foreclosed on.
if only...


matix learned to crawl up stairs.
he just doesn't understand the concept of coming back down-especially backwards.
this has now created a problem with my sister julie. she no longer wants to babysit cause he requires too much attention since her house is basically all stairs.
dang it.


matix went to his last checkup before he hits the one year mark! how crazy does that sound? my baby boy is growing up so fast. people always tell you that but you dont realize it until you have your own little bundle of joy.
anyways the last 3 shots/pokes he's gotten, he has taken like a stinkin champ! no crying. nothing. just a wierd look of confusion like what the h are you doing to me lady? but ya. he's a g. just thought id remind all of you blogreaders.

i think chloe claims the spot of being matix's number one fan. she always comes bearing gifts. always. she calls daily to check on him. boycotts me until i bring him to her house for the prestwich family to enjoy. and doesnt even get mad when matix steals my phone and calls her at 6am. now that's love.

he finally said 'ma'... it was quick and im sure he didnt mean it. but it really happened. finally. pretty soon it will be all mama and no more dadda :)

my child is fat

he is always eating. seriously. anything you have is his. and he will not stop til its in his mouth. if there is a bottle in site he will find it and fuss til he gets it. i swear he acts like we starve him. which we definitely do not. i just dont understand how he only gained one pound since his appointment in december...and dropped from 75th percentile to the 50th. if we let this kid eat til he thinks hes done...he will be one chunky monkey!!!oh goodness.

and did i forget to mention that his favorite lately is.....

no that is not cholcolate on his lips.

matix is now officially the proud owner of 3 teeth! He's had those two bottom ones for quite some time and after much pain and puffiness, the bottom left baby tooth popped right up today. hooray. now if only those top ones would just get out here.

This year we spent Christmas Eve at my moms house with my whole family. It is quite chaotic with all the little ones but its fun. Before we all left the kids opened up their Christmas Eve traditional pajamas.


Christmas morning we opened presents at my house then hurried over to jons grandparents house to finish with his family. Matix got 4 walkers. thats right...apparently everyone wants this kid to walk! haha. eventually we made it back to my house just in time to miss all the shrimp from red lobster. dang it. we were spoiled and had a lot of fun!
