yes i splurged the past two days.
but i cant help myself when there's sweet deals to be taken advantage of :)

this weekend...

we did all sorts of things.

1.) jon's buddy tyler herdt from high school got home from the mish in peru. it was fun to see a lot of jon's high school friends over at the herdt household and watch him talk in church. we love tyler.

2.) went to brand new. {not u2 like 40,000 others} but im not even jealous of them. because brand new rocked it. and played a million songs--old and new. and i loved every second of it. except for the part where we ran into an ex. and a jon ex. awesome.


3.) i bought some new boots [and shirts] from buffalo exchange. {love that place} i think i like them?


4.) helped my sister go eighties for a birthday party. {no pictures of her because her husband threatened to throw the beloved iphone out the window if i documented her in a turquoise green body suit with a major camel toe. sickkkk.} but she ended up wearing something like this...

{check out them glasses. they were theresa's from way back when. and the fanny pack was steph's i believe. awesome, i know}

although this outfit was a close runner up.

5.) jon started training at tony romas and on his first day training, he got tables since it was so busy. and he handled it like a champ. saturday (halloween) is his first day waiting his own tables so go see him!! (lake mead and rainbow) and throw him a big tip :) {ive never been there before so hopefully it's good}

6.) played with the big boys..on the tractors. MY DAD FINALLY STARTED HIS GARAGE. like really started it. it only took about 15 years?
{{here's the story of the garage...it is the ultimate man's garage. IT IS BIGGER THAN OUR HOUSE. yes people. and our house isnt small. it is two stories. holds something like 9 cars. [i could be wrong] oh and it has a lift. dont even worry. you know to lift a car to the second level to load it. duh... oh and i alsmost forgot...im pretty sure there's a bathroom in it somewhere. who knows. }}
anyways. it's begun. and it's moving along. and matix loves loves loves to help. so we spent the better part of saturday outside observing and "helping" my dad and uncle ron :)


7.) watched the guardian. we've been trying to watch it for a few days now. and we finally did. and i loved every second of it. i love love that movie.


8.) matix may (or may not have) broken skin on two more teeth! he's been not sleeping as well and had a runny nose so it's about time something happens. poor guy. teething is rough on all parties involved.

9.) i got my graduation announcements in that mail! this means it's for real. right? (if i pass my classes i guess.)

this is what i found in my box at work this morning....

yes, mike my co-worker "made" me a holiday card. how sweet.

{please keep in mind that this is the same guy who also walked up to my desk and started playing with my whiteout claiming it was a cool race car thing.}

vintage desk.

when i say vintage. i mean old. like this was mine when i was little. okay..so i guess im not that old. but my mom is. and this was also hers when she was little. now that's vintage. we're talking the 1950's. you can even see her name written all over the drawers with backwards S's and everything. well we decided to pull it out of the attic due to matix's recent obsession with drawing. now matix and grandma can work on bills together. and grandma can get all sentimental when she sees her little grandbaby playing on her old desk. oh the cuteness. we love the new addition in the kitchen.

random randomness....

1.)

it has been nice having jon home. he babysits matix during the day and at night while i do homework (and is finally getting used to me not being available to hangout) we have been hanging out with our "couple friends" { aka layne and tom and paris and lisa} on the weekend, which has been fun since i was more involved with my "single ladies" { aka the megleys} during our 6 month separation. (i.miss.them)

2.)

jon has been home for less than 2 weeks, and already found a job! it was his first interview and they basically hired him on the spot. {go babe} He has never really served before but he seems to think it will be a piece of cake. {hopefully}

3.)

i love fall. and walks. and weather that makes walks bearable. since jon has been home, we have been going on walks to the church park across the street. matix loves it. and its fun to spend time together with him.

4.) jons best friend zack got him a ps3 as a "welcome home present." what a nice best friend huh? my thoughts exactly. message to all my best friends out there: I want sweet presents too! jk.

anyways jon and matix "play" together. and make the same sweet faces while doing so. awesome i know. it is pretty cute, but i am a little bit bias.

5.)

i have pretty much decided that this is what we are going to be next year for halloween. so awesome. so embarrassing. so...perfect! i can't wait.this gives me a little over a year to...
a.) convince jon to wear it with us.
b.) talk it up so matix will like it and
c.) learn to be an expert sewer by then so i can actually make it. { ya right }

6.) speaking of costumes...megs found me this sweet monkey costume to help with matix's abu creation.

i am happy to report that....
a.) the fabric is bought. { check}
b.) aladdins pants are made { check}
c.) abu's vest is made { check}
however, there is still quite a bit to go..but we still have a few weeks. yay! i cant wait.

7.) a long long time ago my friend chloe convinced me to buy this super vintage, super old, super grandma dress at goodwill. but it had potential. ya maybe for her. i suck at "envisioning bigger and better things" well.. i never had a chance to get together with her to help me 'modify' it so after weeks and months and months of never being able to wear my sweet $3 vintage purchase, i finally decided to cut it up on a whim in 5 seconds one sunday morning before church. i turned it into a cute skirt/dress! i love it. (i still need to add elastic into the top..good thing the belt/bra did a good job holding it in place..esp for britney spears :)) but i love it. yay for chloe.

(this is the skirt part of the original dress...the top was a total flowy, long sleeved wierd thing. in fact, i think my mom might have the exact same dress somewhere in her closet.{sorry mom}

8.) dirty car+2 cute boys=one sexy car wash (and a nice way to save some cash...)



9.) matix is growing up more than i could ever imagine. and is definitely a little boy. with little boy interests...

(ps...he can now locate his hair, eyes, nose, mouth, toes and bellybutton on command.)




...other than that..school sucks. and midterms suck even more... {only 2 more months!!}

pillow.

lately i have loved looking at peoples crafty blogs. i want to be a cute mommy who makes cute things for her house that she doesnt own with money she doesnt have and time that doesnt exist. suck. maybe someday...

but for now im going to love this pillow and learn to make it someday. any one want to volunteer to learn and then teach me? kthanks.

reunited at last.

bridger got released from the hospital yesterday! (finally) after 15 days being apart, it was so fun to see the little boogers next to each other. bridger is so much littler next to his brother. we are so grateful to have him home!!

dylans birthday party.

apparently i have failed to document dylans birthday a few weeks ago (sorry kelli!) it was "cars" themed..and sooo cute. the kids got their invitations to the track, all their equipment, and raced their 'lightning mcqueen cars' down the race track! the kids had a blast!

madelines birthday!

darci's daughter maddie turned two this week, so we went to the park to celebrate with them.

the weather was perfect. and the company was great.
