Christmas Eve:
My mom hates cooking anything on christmas day, so we have our big dinner on christmas eve. ham, potatoes, rolls, you know...the works... our family is getting so dang big that anytime we all get together it is mass chaos. its fun though. and matix is now able to actually keep up with his cousins and he absolutely loves it when they come over. and i think they all love him back :)
My mom loves the fact that she now has little munchkins to act out the nativity story. Some are still a bit young (uhhhmm matix) and dont appreciate having a towel wrapped around their head when they get cast as a shepherd, but we made do with what would could get. we even had the kids act it out twice so that both kennedy and amanda could be mary. and ethan and adam could be joseph. matix and adam were a shepherds both times although they werent very good participants. and peyton was stuck being baby jesus.
Then it was on to the traditional christmas eve pajamas. i love the picture where my mom has all the kids attention. i think it might just have everything to do with the bag of presents next to her... just a thought though.
matix's molars are coming in at full force. he has two on top and two on bottom. poor guy. my sweet sister rubs his gums for him and i think he appreciates it. look at that face...
Christmas Day:
we woke up bright and early (7am) with excitement to see what "sa sa" brought us. (sidenote: matix knows exactly who santa is but only likes him from a distance. I figured this all out at the marx fam christmas party.) anyways..i think santa did a great job...
yes he's spoiled. and could care less about anything else he opened. but it was so fun to see his eyes get so big when he first saw both the truck and bike under the christmas tree for him to play with!
after some yummy breakfast with the rest of the fam..it was off to jons grandparents for some more gifts. they go big over there..especially for the kiddos. matix got more learning/fun toys than i even knew existed. including a blowup truck with balls. two laptop learning toys. a talking mailbox. etc. trust me there was an unbelievable amount.
we ended the night watching our new bootleg copy of the blindside. shhhh. dont tell. but its a freaking awesome movie. i love love love it.
Marx Family Christmas Party:
is held every year under the coordination of aunt kim. she is amazing and somehow pulls it off every year. this year it was at a warehouse in north las vegas, complete with jump houses, dinner, family pictures, and a hawaiian santa clause (aka uncle jim)
we had a great christmas.

I like the towel on the head look. . . and I especially like when the kids aren't exactly cooperative and get mad and cry during the nativity. . . happens every time. I am amazed that you got through it twice though. . . good thing we don't have that problem.
