grandpa marx

man my grandparents are the greatest.
they are gettin up there in age...
but they sure keep their family close together
last night we had a birthday shindig for good ole grandpa marx.
it was fun to see cousins that we haven't seen in years and catch up.
Our family is ridiculously huge...
But grandma always knows who's where and what they're doing
Im glad quite a few of us made it out to celebrate with him.
Even though they are slowing down (mostly grandpa)
they still make it out to every important event...
so im glad we could return the favor and be there for grandpa on his birthday!

Plus...It's always a treat to ride the horses.

Daley, Anastajia, and Matix

And the for those who arrived a little late for real horsey rides...got their turn riding doug.
what a good sport :)

Cookie Time!

A few nights ago i was invited over to a friends house to decorate halloween sugar cookies!
Quite possibly the funnest thing ever.
Especially with a group as awesome and funny as us.
And we watched Harry Potter 3.
I didn't watch because i haven't seen/read any of the Harry Potter's...and why would i start at 3.
Don't Hate.
Next time I will bring Hocus Pocus.
Now that's a good movie!

{yummmmmmmmmmmm}
thanks guys.

i swear we're not crazy...

as a christmas gift to all chapel employees,
the chapel doug works/lives at offered a free family photoshoot with one of their photographers
and a canvas print.
well since doug is single {ish}
and his family all resides in california/utah
he asked if me and matix wanted to be his family!
so of course we did.
and conveniently i had not yet taken matix's two-year-old pictures
{he is now 2 1/2}

We got back a cd with 120 images.
And a few were edited.

All for free.
Happy Happy Happy.

I know it's a little weird to take family pictures...with your boyfriend...before you're engaged. or married. but it was free. and fun. and that's why we did it.

However...a photo with doug in it..will not yet be making the christmas cards this year. sorry doug.
but that's a little TOO weird for me. Doesn't mean we love you any less.

pumpkin painting

Since i only have matix a few days a week. i love to spoil him with lots of fun!
I love fall. and halloween. and pumpkin carving. and decorating. actually just everything holiday-ish.
so basically i just love everything about this time of year.
And now that matix is getting older, it makes everything that much funner.
One Saturday this month, we decorated the house.
Now every time we come home he talks about how it's Halloween and he asks when we gets to go
trick or treating.
I was surprised he even knew what it was...apparently mickey mouse clubhouse taught him all about it.
I was super excited to carve pumpkins with him.
But then when i thought more about it...knives and two year old dont mix too well.
So i figured there wouldnt be too much he could actually do to help.
So i compromised with pumpkin painting..and it was an absolute hit!
(i even let him pick out the treat...sugar cookies it was)
Now his excitement when we pull up to the house has shifted from "his scarecrow..."
to "his pumpkins"  :)

dougs, ashleys, and two baby ones for little matix

Welcome to Hollywood!!

"Welcome to Hollywood! What's your dream? Everybody comes
here; this is Hollywood, land of dreams. Some dreams come true,
some dont; but keep on dreamin - this is Hollywood. Always time
to dream, so keep on dreamin."
-Pretty Woman

Last weekend was the 2nd annual hollywood party.
I did not go last year. But i had a tonnnn of fun this year.
there were over 350 people there.
it was epic.

I am surprised that some people don't know who Amy Winehouse is.
It's okay...those people are just sheltered. and probably shouldnt be my friend in the first place.
kidding. kinda.
BUT all those who matter, knew and loved it.
I think i did a pretty good job looking like her.
(i had a cup in my hair...no joke)

party like a rockstar
hef and his girls

kardashian klan

ive got the (better looking) bieber fever.
