hannah, bad A ink, and waxing all around.

a few weeks back we had a birthday party for our dear friend jessie. 

it basically rocked.

 

hannah montana was there.

 

tattoos were got by all..

  

and by the end of the night, almost everyone got something waxed.

{but mostly the men...}

 i participated by letting tifani wax my eyebrows. she did an amazing job :)

my new friends are the bestest

so this weekend my parents and brother went out of town. 

so it was a mommy and matix weekend,which i love

however, it also means i dont have much of a social life.

normally, my parents are really cool about me going out with friends once matix is safely tucked in bed

it's the best arrangement ever.

which is why i may never move from my parents house.

but when they are gone, i am stuck at home after he's asleep. 

which i am totally fine with, but i get sad when i miss out on some fun

 but at the same time its nice to catch up with things at home and watch some tv.

however my new little group of friends decided that they missed me 

{awe how sweet right?}

and so if i couldnt come out and party, 

they would bring the party to me!!!

so party we did.

brynn brought over a fire pit, and the ingredients for s'mores

jane sent out the mass text

and bonfire it was...

in my driveway.

it was amazing. 

and people actually showed up!

 (there was a ces fireside with L. Tom Perry right before the "bonfire" which is the reasoning for the church clothes of many)

too bad all, im talkin all, of my new friends are moving within the next month or two.

 epic fail.

its that time of year again!

summer is coming.

and summer=swimming

ashley loves swimming.

in fact i have bought four swimsuits in the past week. yes, four. dont hate.

on saturday my favorite friend katie invited me and matix to the lake with her and her family.

oh we just had a blast.

it even is national park week, so we got in for free. hollaaaaaa.

we just rode around in the boat and went wakeboarding a little bit.

in wetsuits of course. 

the water was unbelievably smooth.

and the weather was perfect.

matix had so much fun just hangin out.

last year he struggled with the idea of a lifejacket. this year he was more than happy to wear it. 

he even blew bubbles in the water with katie. 

he's so sweet. 

im sure this is just the beginning of many more lake trips to come this summer!

logandale in a nutshell...

friday after i got off work me and matix and two of my friends headed out to logandale, nevada to the clark county fair. i have been going just about every year, for as long as i can remember. especially once i became friends with kelli freshman year of high school, because her family runs the fair. we've had some good times there, and now matix can enjoy it with me!

we hung out with our cousins who were there.

met up with kelli and dylan, of course

looked at the animals

(he loved the piggies, and moo cows the most, and he kept calling the lambs and goats dogs)

ate some ice cream, and dipndots

and rode some rides...

sctratch that... a lot of rides

and....he even rode a real live horse!(okay pony..whatver) 

he was really nervous at first but once he was on he DID NOT wanna get off.

such a brave boy.

we had fun. i love doing fun things with matix. he's my little buddy.
i just love him. 

where does he learn these things?

matix loves to draw. like he's obsessed. 

he is so happy just drawing and drawing.

until recently.

now he wants me to draw pictures for him. 

he shouts out an object, and i draw it. (mostly animals)

this has become the new method of distraction during church

like yesterday. 

he shouted out airplane..so i draw him one.

seems normal enough. the kid loves airplanes.

then he barks out his next command.

"cockpit!"

say what? i thought for sure that i had heard him wrong.

until the lady sitting next to me says...

"did he just ask you to draw a cockpit?"

we both laughed and then i drew an arrow to the cockpit of the plane that i just drew.

and he was pleased.

such a silly kid.

starla, my sister stephanie's best friend, and a good friend of the family, was diagnosed with cancer this week. It's crazy. she's only around 30, and in stage III. how to train your dragon

i took matix to his first movie in the theatre this week.
we went at 3 in the afternoon so the theatre would be mostly empty because i wasnt sure what to expect.

but he loves tv...especially handy manny and mickey mouse clubhouse and will watch entire episodes.
and the other night he watched his first full length movie (toy story 2) where he actually watched the whole thing
so we figured we'd give it a shot.
i came very prepared...
with wendys (chicken nuggets and fries--his favorite! and mandarin oranges and sprite and reeses pieces)
im glad because it helped keep him entertained
oh and he brought a balloon...
a valentines day one he found at the house...silly boy.



he lovedddd the movie
and besides a little bit of talking and yelling DRAGON at the screen..
he did excellent!!!

my baby boy really isn't' much of a baby anymore!!

it's started....

(this is matix refusing to let me or anyone else help him get dressed..if i even attempted to help direct, he had to take it all off and start over!)

one month premature of the actually age of two....

shes my new friend in the singles world.

we watch movies together. 

( loved the last song..go miley!)

and spend a lot of money at marshalls.

and go dancing ridiculously late at night. 

thats all. 

{too bad she moves to la in like a month. fail.}

big boy bed.

since matix decided he didnt wanna stay in his crib..we decided to have him start sleeping in a big boy bed. now im not talking a toddler bed. im talking a king size bed. (what..it's already in his room) so i bought some rails for the sides and bam...big boy bed it was. he has been in it for about a week and its gone really well actually. papa is still the best at putting him to bed..that may never change. 

hooray for matix and becoming a big boy!! :)

he really does love the bed...now actually going to bed is a different story...hence the cries.

easter fun.

we celebrated easter this year on saturday with all the cousins. we had lunch. games. bounced. easter egg hunt. and watched conference/napped. it was a great day. and the weather couldnt have been more perfect. matix loves loves loves it when all eleven of his cousins come over to play.

the easter bunny brought matix a new church outfit, some new books, and candy. 

he was quite pleased.

i think more than i little boy should. 

i hope one day he grows out of it,

because right now...

he looks for them. he finds them. and then he's all smiles. and wont take them off.
