East Coast Road Trip: Crane Beach and Salem

We did so much sightseeing in Boston on the 4th that we just wanted to take it easy the next day. We slept in...and it felt oh so good. Finally around noon we got our butts in gear and decided to take a zipcar to a nearby beach. As you all know, I had never even touched the Atlantic Ocean until 2 days before, so I was more than excited to see what east coast beaches were all about! We drove through the coolest little areas, and before we knew it we had pulled up to Crane Beach! It was gorgeous...and so east coast-y. I was pleasantly surprised and loved everything about it. Okay...not everything. Those damn horseflies...were big. and ugly. hurt so freaking bad. and i hated everything about them!!! Other then that...I loved it! It's totally different that the west coat...but I loved it just about as much! Hooray for swimming in the Atlantic!!

Sexy Bruise! Slippin' Sliding is dangerous.

On our way back to the city we stopped by Salem, Massachusetts. Devin has an ancestor that was accused of being a witch and died in prison while waiting for her trial. You can read about her story here. Anyways...she is buried in the main witch cemetery there in Salem, so we wanted to go find her! Unfortunately we weren't able to locate her tomb (those headstones are so old that they are impossible to read) but it was still cool to be there. We walked around the town, and saw lots of interesting things...like the oldest house in New England (The House of Seven Gables) and the house known as the witch house! It was actually really fun. And then we ate some Indian food(my first time) before heading back into the city.

We had one last thing on our Boston to do list before we left...

Thank you to Phil and Crystal for having us.
We love the Boston area
